My Family's First Record Player

This illustration of my family's first record player was just a vector graphics exercise.

It's a PrinzSound Stereo System 6 with a Garrard 2025 turntable, circa 1970, and, I believe, was a Dixons exclusive.

It had a record changing function so that you could stack a few records at once. It also offered four speeds for different kinds of records: 45rpm, 33rpm, 78rpm, and 16rpm, the latter of which baffled me for years. I've never encountered a 16rpm record, but, apparently, some audiobooks, spoken word and language-lessons records were 16rpm.
